Closet Ideas for Better Organization

Cluttered closets can be very annoying especially when you are trying to find something to wear. The good news is that there are some simple closet ideas you can take advantage of to make it easier to find your clothes.

To make your closet more organized, you need to take advantage of the entire space from the ceiling to the floor. You can place some bins on the high shelves and put some of your things in roll-out boxes which you can place on the floor. If the ceiling is more than 9 feet high, you can add a third pole and use it to store items you do not use regularly. The areas that are less accessible in the closet should be used for storing clothes you wear occasionally.

Lighting is another important aspect you should think about because you need to be able to see the items in the closet. You can get natural light by including a window or skylight in your closet. One of the things you should be careful about with the natural light is fading. Sunlight can make some of your brightly colored clothes to fade. If you do not have natural light, you can use artificial light. The most suitable light to use is fluorescent lighting.

A closet will work well if you plan how to use it beforehand and keep in mind some of the closet ideas already mentioned. Consider how you dress and the way you prefer to store items to determine how to use the space available. Most of small items like belts, socks and underwear can be stored in see-through bins to make it easy to get dressed.

The best material to have for the closet floor is vinyl or wood because carpet can be difficult to clean if you are using it in a small space. For a walk-in closet, carpet can work well because you can easily vacuum it.
